Reliable Defense Under Pressure
Extreme Pressure (EP) greases are designed to protect machine components exposed to heavy shock loads, vibration, and severe contact pressure. In these conditions, standard greases can fail to maintain a lubricating film, allowing metal-to-metal contact that leads to premature wear or even component seizure. EP greases, on the other hand, form a durable barrier that withstands extreme stress, reduces friction, and ensures smooth, reliable performance.
These greases are fortified with specialized additives such as molybdenum disulfide (moly) and graphite, which bond to metal surfaces to provide an extra layer of protection where conventional lubricants cannot. This is especially critical in high-impact applications like heavy equipment pins and bushings, where sliding motion and heavy loads occur simultaneously. For example, bucket pins experience far more movement and shock than arm pins, requiring a grease with greater film strength and load-carrying capability.
Lubrication Engineers’ EP greases are formulated for these exact conditions. Products such as Almamoly™ HD Grease (1488) contain 5% moly, exceeding many OEM requirements that specify 3%, and provide superior wear protection and longer-lasting lubrication in critical pivot points and high-friction joints. These formulations also feature complex soap thickeners and advanced base oils to deliver exceptional water resistance, oxidation stability, and mechanical strength under continuous operation.
From construction and mining to industrial processing and transportation, LE’s EP greases are proven in the field to protect components that operate under pressure every day. Backed by decades of experience installing and maintaining automatic lubrication systems, our team understands the importance of using the right grease for the right application, ensuring performance, reliability, and equipment longevity.
